On the first floor are two further double bedrooms, en-suite shower room, family bathroom and fourth bedroom.
To the second floor is another spacious double bedroom with en-suite shower room, fitted cupboards. This room has two Velux windows and is exposed to lots of natural sunlight.
Outside the rear garden is mainly laid to lawn, some fruit trees have been planted along with a separate shed. To the front is another shed/ cupboard perfect for bikes, bin store and additional storage.
All the appliances in the house are by Bosch, A or A+, including the gas boiler that we get serviced yearly.
The house is set up with both virgin cable and BT.
Central Headington hosts five hospitals and many educational institutions, including John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford Brookes University, Windmill Primary, St Andrews and Headington Girls School, making this location popular amongst medics and academics. The Thornhill Park and Ride, regular buses, A40 and M40 are easily accessible making Headington a convenient commute to London and airports. There are a good selection of local shops including Waitrose, Co-op and Tesco.
The major bus lines have stops to Oxford city centre, London and major airports within less than 5 min walk from the house. Very easy access to the 34 from the ring road and to the A40.
The three state hospitals in Oxford are also within walking distance from the house. As well as a private hospital, GP surgeries, dental practices, and opticians.
"In the owners words"
We moved into the newly built Florence Court about 7 years ago as a young family, attracted by the village aspect of the neighbourhood, despite being less than 15 minutes away by bike or public transport from the centre of Oxford. There are plenty of good quality nurseries and schools both state and private within walking distance. Two very big parks with children’s playing areas and a library are less than 5 mins away.
Despite being off Windmill road, the house is quietly tucked in at the bottom of the Close, very private both at the front of the house and from the garden.
The house itself comes with all the benefits of a newly built home: latest building regulations such as wide access doors for disabled people, excellent insulation, spacious rooms, good taste and consistent design across the rooms. The house is ready to move right in, furnished or unfurnished upon the buyers to decide. It is worth mentioning that there are very few houses this big in the area.
The ground floor consists of a living room, a restroom, and an open space kitchen with an independent laundry room. The kitchen is a fantastic family area where we can cook, work, do homework and relax the whole family together. It faces the garden where we grow plenty of berries, pears and apples for the family, rose bushes and cooking herbs. There is storage for the garden tooling and BBQ.
The ground floor has real wood flooring, the bathrooms in the three floors are tiled and the living room and bedrooms are carpeted.
We fitted the living room as an office with plenty of space for two desks, 3 wide bookshelves and a day bed/ sofa for guests. The restroom is big enough to fit a shower if needed. Coming up the stairs there is a generous single room, a double bedroom, the main bedroom with en-suite and the family bathroom.
The third floor is an en-suite double bedroom and plenty of storage space.
There is a closed shed outside, in front of the house, spacious enough to keep all the family bikes. There are 2 parking spots in the garage area 20m away from the house.
The neighbourhood is very quiet, mainly professional couples with young children - as the families on both sides of the house, and some older residents. There is a Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s within walking distance. Plenty of family pubs and fancy restaurants around, as well as other services like laundry, small local regional food markets, building suppliers, a gas station and car garages. All home-delivery providers serve this area of Oxford. There are several allotment associations close by.
This house is a forever home, and a very good investment given the closeness with the hospitals and both Oxford biomedical and Oxford Brookes campuses and the thriving city companies. We are truly sorry to leave, but professional obligations take us away from Oxford.
