Dating back to the 18th century, this stunning Cotswold stone, five bedroom character residence has been sympathetically much improved and extended, enjoying views of the generous and well-groomed garden with mature tree and shrubs. With feature beams, two inglenook fireplaces and dual-aspect views being just a few of the character features on offer of this delightful home.
The owners have balanced the more recent additions perfectly, with a spacious kitchen featuring contemporary work surfaces, limestone flooring and with skylights allowing natural light to flood the living space. No expense has been spared on the luxurious and high quality finish throughout the property including solid oak flooring to really showcase the sophisticated charm.
The property features off-street parking for multiple vehicles, plus a detached double garage with an upper floor providing significant storage space, which, if required, has potential to further extend the accommodation. There is a covered, heated swimming pool which can also be accessed from your summerhouse allowing for more private usage. With the social garden and generous accommodation, the property is prime for entertaining and alfresco dining.
Set in the highly popular village of North Leigh the cottage has fantastic access into Witney and with Oxford City also accessible. Ideal for commuting to London via the local Hanborough train station and with Finstock & Combe stations also within 3 miles. Not to mention access to the fantastic educational facilities including a local village primary school, the Kings school and a bus service to Cokethorpe running nearby. The village enjoys a couple of public houses and has served the current owners very well; taking a stroll around you will sense the community and village appeal in the atmosphere.

In the owners words:
“We’d always wanted a period cottage near Witney to make our own. Arden retains all its original period character but was in much need of love and attention; thankfully it hadn’t been spoilt by unsympathetic refurbishment. Its location, large garden, private parking area and garage are big bonuses for a period cottage; and the large kitchen room is a great entertaining space. The quiet local countryside, friendly village shop and proximity to Witney for all its amenities make North Leigh the perfect location. We both enjoy cycling, running and walking, so being so close to the surrounding countryside is perfect. The west-facing garden gives us long summer evenings with plenty of space to sit outside and watch the sunset. The heated pool is lovely – we’d originally intended to fill it in, but are now thankful that we didn’t.”
