 In the owners’ own words:
“When they retired, our parents were very keen to move to the lovely, market town of Wallingford in the heart of the wonderful South Oxfordshire and Chilterns countryside. They were so thrilled to find a period, characterful and unique house for sale in the beautiful, historic St Leonard’s neighbourhood that they immediately went to the Estate Agent and bought it then and there. That was 35 extremely happy years ago.

Mum and Dad lovingly and sympathetically restored and maintained the property, which dates back to approx. 1700, making it a warm and welcoming home. It was the setting for the creation of cherished memories, including many significant and joyful family occasions and parties where the easy flow from the inside of the house onto the patio garden added to the sociable atmosphere. The three large bedrooms on the first floor as well the bedrooms on the top floor made it a great venue for large, family Christmases with children and grandchildren.

Our parents loved being part of the close, safe and very neighbourly community in St Leonard’s, making many lifelong friends. They also appreciated the convenience of being within a couple of minutes’ walk of the market square, shops, Corn Exchange, local parks and amenities in one direction and the river in the other. This one-off property has some amazing features including the high-vaulted ceiling and beams in the master bedroom, fireplaces, working cellar and, unusually for this area, its own garage.”
